“Roger and Rosetta are our good guides”

5 of 5 starsReviewed November 1, 2011

I chose the Alternative Safari tour through Internet search because of its lower price. People commented that the Big 5 Safari was not worth to visit. I also joined the wineland tour because people said it was very relax to taste wine in the wineland. My colleague and I are Chinese. Although wine were not our favour, the whole tour was enjoyable because Roger was a nice guide and there were so many wine to taste. We both bought a bottle of honey wine because it was sweet and tasty. We like the next day's Alternative Safari because we could see Zebra and other wild animals. Rosetta, our guide Roger's wife, was a very sociable and nice lady to chat with us. At the end of the day, Roger drove us to the Casino that was our request. Roger and Rosetta treated us like friends more than customers. We had an unforgettable and cheerful memory in these two days. I highly recommend Roger because of his professional attitude. I miss Roger and Rosetta very much.

Roger is knowledgeable, helpful and very accommodating to our groups requests to changing route. We had a fabulous day of wine tasting, we visited 5 different venues and the town of Stellenbosch. If you want a wine tour, Roger is the man. Be sure to talk to him about what you are looking for, he will be very helpful.

“Excellent service rendered: From Olivera from Jhb”

5 of 5 starsReviewed October 23, 2011

On a recent visit to Cape Town, my first visit since I immigrated to SA, was made exceptional through the services rendered to me by Roger and Rosetta. Not only did Roger exhibit extraordinary knowledge of the Cape Peninsula and the surrounding area, but he proved to be a very informative about where all the special places would be for shopping, eating and entertainment in our free time. He was always gracious and friendly in his dealings with his clients. It was striking how well he and Rosetta worked as a team to allow for the smooth and successful execution of the planned itinerary of the tour. My sincere thanks to them both!

“Excellent guide for Cape Town”

5 of 5 starsReviewed October 21, 2011

we six friends from India touring Cape Town & west cape, engaged the services of Roger Major of Mytours. Stayed in Cape Town for six nights. The sightseeing organized by Roger was most satisfactory. Visit to the Historical Robben Island is a must. The Cape-Peninsula tour was fabulous & picturesque. Roger is very informative and we loved the bits of history to go with what must be the most amazing views from Cape Point and at the ‘Cape of Good-Hope’. We saw wild baboons, Ostriches with lovely scenery and the Penguins. Roger knows the best wine estates. Tour of the Wine lands included tastings delicious local wines & brandy. Roger explained the interesting history of the South African wine industry. We had enjoyable walking tour of Stellenbosch; visited Table Mountain on the cable car. One evening, Roger took us up to the top of Signal Hill, where we had a Fantastic view of Cape Town by night.
Few positive things about Roger are his promptness to respond to all emails and inquiries. Roger is a Guide & Drives his own Van, he takes the responsibility to plan the entire tour, book hotels at the correct location & at a discount.
Roger's dealings are genuine & honest; no discontent or ambiguity, to the extent, that many times, he went out of his way to spend extra time & efforts to make us comfortable.
Roger’s one point approach is to pamper his clients, make them comfortable to enjoy the tour which ensures complete satisfaction.
It is better to engage services of ‘mytours’ for planning as soon as you decide to tour west-cape. Compared with his services, rich experience & expertise in tourism, Roger is very reasonable, gives more than promised & is certainly worth it.
I strongly recommend Roger Major to all visitors to Cape Town & West Cape because he makes the trip indeed memorable & enjoyable.
Well done Roger and keep up the excellent work!!!

“excellent trips”

5 of 5 starsReviewed October 10, 2011

We visited Cape Town in Sept and used Roger as our tour guide, and can only describe him as excellent, Roger and his wife Rosetta gave us a lovely warm welcome as we arrived at the airport , and on our way to the hotel, was giving us good info on Cape Town, regarding place to visit, eat and shop. The next morning Roger collected us from our hotel in good time and we went to the Cheetah outreach just outside Stellenbosch, which was great fun, and on our way back he recommended a stop at Stellenbosch to visit a wonderful museum of 4 houses dating from 1700, which was very interesting, and then on to the Villiera winery for a lovely wine tasting, the perfect end to the day. On another day Roger again picked us up in good time and we went to the Fairy Glen safari park, were again we had a great time, on our journey to and from once again Roger was able to give us details on the surrounding areas , We also did the full day tour to Cape point, were Roger did a special stop for us to go to the World of Birds ,We then went on to Boulders beach to visit the Penguins, so cute and a paddle in the sea........... we drove over Chapmans Peak with amazing views then onto Cape Hope and Cape point, with stops for photos on the way........Once again Roger had good knowledge on all the surrounding areas and having Rosetta with us on this trip who is a good whale spotter we were able to catch sight of a few which was great..On our final day Roger again very promptly collected us for the airport and we said our goodbyes promising to return again and we would defiantly use his services then also. My husband who is totally blind felt that the extra details Roger gave us on the places and areas we visited were really beneficial to him on our tours, Roger is a very comfortable and careful driver and we felt totally at ease with him and anybody with a disability or special needs should not hesitate to contact him

Mytours is really great. We booked 2 full day trips with them, Table mountain-Roben Island and Whale watching.
We found my tours from the internet and emailed them and Roger replied so fast. He provided us with all the neccesary information (weather, clothing etc)before leaving our country. More over they are cheaper than other tour guides.
His wife Rossetta join us in Hermanus the Whale watching tour, she is really nice and due to the fact that she was born in cape town she has so many things to tell.
We had a great time with them.

Contacted Roger before going to Cape Town for the above tours and he replied back so soon which prompted me to take his services for private tours. He picked us up at Westin Cape Town 15 minutes earlier....good one...then started our tour. He has so much knowledge of the town...2nd day is Winelands tour...he took us to the best estates which made us buy 10 bottles of wine (maximum for our emirates airline limit) too bad....should have taken more....looking forward to seeing Cape Town again! “Peninsula Tour with Roger”

5 of 5 starsReviewed September 5, 2011

My husband and myself did the Peninsula tour with Roger and i must say he was really a great guide to be with .

We actually did our booking over the net and decided to go with him reading all the fantastic reviews and i must say , he did fulfil all of those .We had contacted him via email just 1 day before travelling and he was quick to respond and our booking was confirmed in spite of just a days notice.

He was very obliging and informative and gave us ample time for pictures and did not rush us like most tour guides .

He also does airport pick and drop which is cheaper to the pick up from hotels ..

He went out of his way and arranged for the sky dive through another guide at a discounted rate , but we unfortunately could not make it due to bad weather.

All in all i would say touring with him was great and would definitely recommend visitors visiting cape town to contact Roger

Great to see we made a great choice with Roger, he went out of his way to please and we enjoyed both days out that included the wine tasting, Table mountain, the Cape, Croc farm, rescued Lions, petting cheetahs and the owl sanctuary. Two most enjoyable days, and great music from his CD! Not enough time to do it all but we hope to come back again and will definitely book Roger again.

i booked a daytrip to the wine lands direct with Roger. There were four of us, we had a private tour rather than join a group. It was an excellent day out, visiting 5 vineyards plus we went to Stellenbosch for lunch. Roger was a great guide, showing us some of the incredible countryside as well as the vineyards and i would recommend this company without hesitation.

“Fantastic Tours with Roger”
I recently visited Cape Town for a conference and took some time for sightseeing. I had read many great reviews on TripAdvisor about Roger and his tours and decided to book the winelands and peninsula tours. For the winelands tour, my husband hadn't arrived yet so I went on the tour solo and Roger arranged for his lovely wife Rosetta to join us so I would have some company. It was a great time. I wasn't aware that Roger offered airport pickups, but when I learned this I arranged for him to meet my husband at the airport upon his arrival. The peninsula tour was fabulous and, as many reviewers have commented, Roger's knowledge of the area and wildlife was very impressive. He obviously loves Cape Town. Roger was very quick to respond to all emails and inquiries and was always on time or early. I would highly recommend booking with Roger. Visited June 2011

“Great Tour Had a great and flexible tour of the Cape with Roger on June 27th.There were just the two of us (friends) so we were able to adjust the tour to take advantage of the beautiful weather. After seeing everything out on the Cape, penguins, baboons, seals, Cape of Good Hope, beaches, fishing villages & market stalls, we elected not to spend long over lunch. With the extra time Roger took us to Table Mountain and we went up in the cable car. There was hardly a breeze and the views were spectacular. We are so glad we went as the weather deteriorated later in the week and Table Mountain was enveloped in fog on the day we had planned to go. Roger is very knowlegeable and gave us a great tour. He responded quickly to emails we sent. Sandy, Brisbane Visited June 2011 __________________________________________________________
“great wine tour” We went on a wine tour with Roger of Mytours. He picked us up from our hotel in Cape Town and we saw some of the most amazing wine estates, which we would never have found had we rented a car. Roger really knows his wines and the winelands. On the tour we had a stop in Stellenbosch which was really a very nice interesting and historical town in the heart of the winelands, if we were going to Cape Town again, we would definitely use Mytours services. They are reliable and very knowledgeable of this whole area. Modline Germany Visited June 2011 ___________________________________________________________

“Great service, great experience”
We contacted Roger a few weeks before our trip to Cape Town to have a Cape of Good Hope day tour. He also let us know he can provide with an airport transfer which we wanted to have. When we arrived CPT Roger was waiting for us as he had promised and then he drove us to our hotel.
Next morning he picked us up on time and then we had a very nice day touring the Cape. We visited Hout Bay to see the seal colony there, drove the famous Chapman's Drive, saw the penguins at Boulders and finally visited the Cape Point. When driving back Roger even took us to free winetasting which was a pleasant surprise.
The morning we left Cape Town Roger whisked us to the airport, and everything went as agreed again. Our experience with Roger Major and his Mytours was a great one and we can recommend his services to everyone.

Roger collected us from the airport and took us to our hotel. The next day we went on a wine tour with him. I strongly recommend using a guide for this tour. Roger knows the best wine estates and we drank award winning wines at boutique wine estates. It turns out to be a really fantastic day. I would definitely recommend Roger on Mytours if you want to do a wine tour in Cape Town. If you lucky his charming wife comes along and entertain the guests. He specializes in very personalized small groups and he is very knowledgeable.

“A packed and wonderful two days in Cape Town”
Reviewed May 8,
Thanks to Roger Major my little group of five friends on the way to join a Silversea cruise had an amazing "mini break" in Cape Town. On day one (an afternoon really) Roger took us on a tour of the winelands which included tastings and we had a fascinating walking tour of Stellenbosch. In the evening we had dinner in a V&A waterfront fish restaurant with discount arranged by Roger. On day two (morning really)we went up Table Mountain on the cable car, toured the region out to Boulder Bay and were fascinated to watch the wonderful penguins there. On the way back to our hotel Roger took us to view the Mount Nelson hotel which, next time we are in Cape Town, we plan to visit for afternoon tea. Sadly we did not have time on this occasion. We all decided Cape Town has so much to offer and although Roger did as much as he could in the time available, we really must return and our first email will be to Roger Major to book some tours.

Reviewed April 27, 2011
We had read on other TA reviews, about the personal service that Roger offers and contacted him in advance of our trip to Cape Town and am glad that we did as he was fairly booked then. His communication with us was excellent from start to finish and we made arrangements for an airport pick up and a booking for a winelands tour before we left England. On arrival in Cape Town, we were met by a colleague of Roger (Roger himself was unavailable as he was on another tour), who dropped us at our hotel. We then went on a winelands tour with Roger later in the week, along with another customer, lasting the whole day with a stop for lunch. Roger was great company and entertainment, his knowledge and passion for Cape Town was really fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to heartily recommend Roger for all of your tours in Cape Town.

“Simply the best time ever!!”
Reviewed April 21, 2011
I found My tours through Trip Advisor . When I read the reviews I was impressed about how most of the people who went on these tours had such a good time and it made their trip very memorable. Most of the reason why the tours are so popular as I found out is because of Roger Major.

When I first e-mailed Roger he responded very quickly. I e-mail him a couple of other times to ask questions and he responded just as quickly.

I went on three tours with Roger when I was in Capetown. Actually the Cape Peninsula Tour I went with another group. Roger could not take me because he already was leading another group on another tour. But Danny the group leader of our tour was very knowledgeable and a nice fellow. I had a great time and the sights were unbelievable. We also saw a little wildlife including baboons, a wild ostrich and an eland. The next day I went on the wine tour with Roger with 3 nice young women from Boston. Since all of us were not big drinkers we only went to 3 wineries. I have never did wine tasting before but to my surprise I really had fun with it. The rest of the day we spent in a nice little town called Stellenbosch and then went to the Cheetah Outreach. On the last day before I left I went on the big five safari. It is not actually a real safari but unlike a zoo the animals are free to roam around except for the lions. You also can get very close to the animals and I learned a lot from our tour guide on the safari who was very informative and funny.

I think what makes Roger's tours so popular is that he really cares if you have a good time. He wants your time in Capetown to be special. He wants you to love Capetown as much as he does. Roger is actually from England and moved to Cape town around 8 years ago. He says he does not really miss home that much. I don't blame him. Cape town is a beautiful place with friendly people.

Recently spent 4 days in Cape Town as time was short, I needed the services of a company who could show me the sights and arrange tours.Roger Major of Mytours enabled me to see Robben Island, Table Mountain on day three and on my last day took me on a winery tour covering 4 wineries, even had time for lunch in Stellenbosch with time to visit a fascinating museum consisting of 4 properties. I needed to be at the airport by 3.30 for my flight to Dubai and Roger managed this with time to spare.I enjoyed my time with Roger immensely as he was a mine of information and I enjoyed the craic.

“best tour guide ever!”
5 of 5 stars
My husband and I travel a lot, but have never used a tour guide before -- we met Roger because we tagged along on (gatecrashed?) a winelands tour some of our friends were going on with him (he was very accommodating taking us on at the last minute) It was fantastic! We went to a mix of large and small wine estates in paarl, fransshoek, stellenbosch - stopping for a most delicious lunch with amazing views along the way. We enjoyed it so much, we asked if Roger was free to take us out again in a couple days for my birthday - we joined another couple who were doing the alternative safari tour with roger (lucky for us this was in the winelands as well) It was a perfect birthday. Roger took us to some very special places (I was a bit worried that all the wine we bought wouldnt make it back to London in one piece, but I am pleased to report it all did!) and he did a very sweet thing as a birthday bonus - he arranged for a barrel tasting, which was great fun to learn more about the wine making process instead of only enjoying the end result.

In short - both wineland tours with Roger were great! As a tour guide, Roger is the perfect combination of being knowledgable, friendly and easy-going, without being pushy, intrusive or demanding -- he is very good (and very nice), and we highly highly recommend him. It has been great reading all these reviews about him as well - trip advisor is right on this one, and we will do more research for our next trip.

Thanks again Roger - it was a pleasure meeting you, and we look forward to seeing you again

“Excellent Tour guide - MyTours”

Tours to the Winelands you can find on every corner in Cape Town but only a few are worth to recommend.

One of them is Roger Major's MyTours. Roger is a private tour guide. His phenomenal knowledge about wine is very impressive. His tours include a mixture between well-known wine-estates and excellent small wine farms. Sometimes he even goes to Durbanville which normally isn't part of wine tours (De Grendel is one of my favorites.)

Even after I went with Roger a couple of times I have to admit that he always finds new and interesting places. It is a pleasure to travel with him and I can only highly recommend him.

Date of review: Mar 10, 2011 Roger is an excellent person to contact if you are traveling to Cape Town.He is excellent at answering your e-mails and he is honest and informative. When my wife and I arrived at the Cape Town Airport at 1:00am, Roger had arrainged for a cab to pick us up and transfer us to our Hotel in Sea Point. We went on 2 tours with Roger and they were both excellent. The first day we went on a customized tour to Table Mountain and then to the Cape of good Hope. The next day we went on a wine tour to Stellenbosch. We had the pleasure of being accompanied by Rogers wife Rossetta and a very lovely young lady, Doratcha from Ireland. At the end of the tour we were invited to Rogers home for a beer and then we all went out for supper together. The wine tour was a most memorable day.

We went on two day tours with Roger at Mytours in January--to the Big 5 game farm and wine tasting. He also helped us do transfers from place to place in Cape Town (e.g, from one hotel to another), and our final airport transfer. He was consistently very quick to reply to email requests, accommodating, and quite flexible about plans (e.g., we stopped off for an unscheduled wine-tasting en route to the game farm that day). He enjoys driving and showing people the Cape area and its beauty and his friendly (local) wife also came along for one of the transfers. His company has two vans--the one he usually drives is much newer and more comfortable than the second one. We appreciated his punctuality very much and we knew we could depend on him. Also he knows the Sea Point area very well and has many recommendations there. Very helpful.

An unforgettable trip!!!

I found Roger through Trip Advisor. As a woman traveling alone, I was particularly concerned about my safety, but didn't want to miss out on all the attractions that Cape Town has to offer. Well, what a find and a treasure Roger was!! I arrived in Cape Town on the Queen Mary 2 on Friday -- did one of the ship's tours, then spent Saturday wandering around the V&A waterfront area where my hotel was located. On Sunday, Roger picked me up from my hotel and, along with two lovely people from Canada, we did the Peninsula tour. Fabulous day -- we went down to the Cape of Good Hope and along the way, saw lots of wild life and even managed to do a little wine-tasting. As others have said, Roger is very knowledgeable about the area, makes you feel like a member of his family and is flexible about the itinerary. On Monday, we did the Alternate Safari tour which was absolutely glorious. We went on a 1 1/2 hour game drive, made a visit to a crocodile farm, a lion refuge (during feeding time) and my favorite -- visited the Cheetah sanctuary where I got to have a close up encounter with a cheetah. It was an incredible experience -- a once in a lifetime moment. After the safari tour, I was due to catch a flight late that night, and Roger and his wife kindly invited me to dinner at their home and later drove me to the airport. It was just like having friends in Cape Town (and I now do consider Roger and his lovely wife as friends). I highly recommend selecting Roger to show you Cape Town. He's the best!!

We have just returned from Cape Town, where we had the pleasure of several tours with Roger Major. This really made this a wonderful holiday for us. Roger provides individualized tours for small groups (we were 3 and at times 4 in number). He has a wonderful knowledge of the area and attractions and goes out of his way to make you feel at home and part of the family. One evening, Roger and his lovely wife Rosetta even took us up to the top of Signal Hill, where we had a wonderful view of Cape Town by night and shared a bottle of champagne. Roger picked us up at our hotel each day and dropped us off when finished. He also picked us up at the airport and delivered us there for our return flight.
The tours we enjoyed were:
Cape Tour - to Cape of Good Hope
Alternative Safari - a wonderful day viewing animals in their native habitat, as well as a crocodile farm, white lion preserve and cheetah sanctuary.
Roger also does a wonderful Wine Country tour but our time didn't allow for that, although he was kind enough to work in a visit to a couple of wineries as part of the other tours.
The price is exceptionally reasonable and the service is truly personal. We left Cape Town feeling that Roger was a new friend.
We're already making plans for a return visit next year.
Please take a look at some of our photos.

A friend and myself did a tour of the Cape Peninsula with MyTours in the middle of Jan 2011. Due to a last minute switcharound, we were told that Roger couldn't make it and we had another driver.

Our driver was a chap called Alex who was fantastic company for our day touring the Peninsula. With seemingly endless knowledge and stories, Alex was great fun to spend our last day in Cape Town with and was even happy to drop us off at the airport. All in all he couldn't have been more helpful.

The tour itself covered everything you would want from the Cape Peninsula tour. We did the ferry to Seal Island, Chapman's Peak, Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point, Boulders Beach and we also squeezed in a quick trip to the Groot Constantia wine farm on the way back to the airport. Boulders was my highlight - we went to the free bit, not the pay and stand on a boardwalk bit and we were advised that providing we didn't touch and moved slowly, we could get really close to the penguins which we did.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the company to anyone else who wanted to do a Cape Peninsula tour.

I appreciated the high level of service given in a most professional and friendly way. Responses to email enquiries were always quick and thorough. A confirmatory telephone call to our hotel the might before our tour was appreciated and Roger was punctual, collecting us from hotel reception the next morning in a very comfortable Renault Espace. We soon left Cape Town behind and went to one beautiful Winelands Estate after another. All were quite different in size and character and Roger explained some of the history of the South African wine industry. He also included a tour of the university area of Stellenbosh and a stop at one of the oldest village stores in the country which was most memorable. The venue chosen for lunch was one where travellers purchased items from a picnic shop before choosing a table in the private parkland adjacent. Roger also touched on his experience in tourism in the UK and in more recent years South Africa where he became duly accredited by the authorities as a guide running a service compliant with all official requirements. My tour ended at the Cape Town International Airport where he safely delivered us with all our cases ready for a flight to the UK. He left us saying he would pass by outside the airport a few minutes later in case our flight was cancelled and he could be of further service. This is indicative of a very caring person and I would recommend anyone wishing to take a tour to contact him. In particular guests leaving Cape Town on an evening flight might like to consider a combined Winelands tour and airport drop-off. It makes a most pleasant day and the wine tasting helps with a peaceful night on the plane for those on long-haul flights. Finally on prices we found Roger’s rate to be most competitive and, by way of a tip, please be ready to leave your hotel on time as there is so much to see and enjoy

Lovely Cape Town winelands tour with a very helpful guide

We went on the Winelands tour with Roger Major visiting lovely estates and enjoying the wine tasting. Roger is very flexible with the itinerary offering to change it if he thinks you might be interested in a particular attraction. He gave us the chance to walk round Stellenbosch or be driven. There were just the two of us so it was more like a private tour and at a very reasonable price.

There was bad weather in Europe with many cancellations and people stranded at airports. Roger dropped us at the airport at the end of the tour and said we should come out to the front of the airport again if our flight was cancelled and he would drive round to check if we were there so he could take us to a hotel. It was a very considerate offer but fortunately our flight was running.

I would certainly recommend Roger for providing an interesting tour and being a very helpful guide.

“Very Professional Tour Guide - Excellent Value for Money

Dec 31, 2010 New
We were 4 adults and 5 kids from 3 years to 9 years old. We have booked 5 tours with Roger from 24 Dec. to 29 Dec. 2010: Cape Town City Tour, Robben Island/Table Mountain, Cape Peninsula, Winelands Tour, and Big 5 Safari and we were very satisfied.

Roger was very knowledgeable about the different sites, chose the timing in a way to avoid traffic jams, advised about the best restaurants, activities for kids, was flexible (5 kids!) and punctual. To us, Roger has simply shown a great deal of professionalism and contributed to make our trip to SA memorable.

We have done all the bookings via email from Qatar.

We will definitely be using Roger’s services if we come back to Cape Town.

We surely recommend Roger (http://www.mytours.co.za) to all.

We booked the Table Mountain & Robben Island tour with Roger. Due to rough waves, we weren't able to go to Robben Island, but Roger was flexible to take us around on the best wine tour ever. We went to three vineyards and enjoyed every one of them. When you get a chance to go to Cape Town, definitely contact Roger at MyTours.

My sis and I only had a couple of days to explore Cape Town so we spent one of those days with Roger Major. We found Mytours through TripAdvisor so I booked the tour with him via email. He was very easy to deal with and prompt with his replies. He took us around the peninsula (one of the highlights of Cape Town) in his minivan and was very informative. It was nice to not have to sit with 50 other people in a big coach. We didn't feel rushed at all during the day. Excellent value for money! Thanks Roger!

We visted Cape town early Nov 2010 and found this tour company on the internet after we arrived. We mailed Roger and set up the tours promptly to fit in with our schedule whilst in CT. Both the Cape of good Hope and the Safari Big 5 were great tours, we were collected close to our hotel and given a wealth of information during the trip on Cape Town and surrounding areas. I would thoroughly recommend booking with Roger for smaller groups and informative tours. Linds

We went to Cape Town for a week last month. And booked 3 tours with `mytours` Roger was our guide. We first did the table mt, robben island tour, followed by the Peninsula tour and Wine tour. Roger was very good at getting everyone on the tour connected together so much so that we all became friends. He went to out of the way places on the routes, showing us little gems of beauty and interest along the way with historical commentary and facts. Giving us good advice of places to visit on our free days in Cape Town, and were grateful of his advice on this. He is very knowledgeable and interesting with an outgoing personality, providing a professional service.

We do not regret joining mytours for our tours in Cape Town. We will definitely be using mytours when we come down to Cape Town again. And will recommend them to any of my business associates when they come to Johannesburg, and are looking for a break in Cape Town. If your`e looking for a great day out in Cape Town, look no further.

My wife and I recently visited Capetown and discovered Mytours by chance through one of Roger's brochures. We were really pleased we did as we went on two full day trips with Roger and he is an excellent guide, going out of his way to ensure you get the most out of your time with him. Roger is very flexible and will tweak his itinerary to suit your requirements. We would definitely use his services again if we return to Capetown and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable tour guide around the Cape.

I went on a winelands tour with mytours when I was in Cape Town in September. Roger was my guide. Going on this tour was the best decision of my stay in CapeTown. what a fantastic day. roger knows the best Wine Estates and exactly where they are. I was fortunate to be with other nice people on this tour and to meet new friends. We enjoyed stunning locations at every stop. you definately need a guide on this tour, we all agreed we could not have found these beautiful locations which we did not know existed until we went on mytours wine tour. I learnt so much about the wine industry and history of the area with Roger, who has a passion to share his knowledge with all. I would definitely recommend Roger and Mytours for a tour of the winelands in Cape Town.

My husband and I had been to Cape Town, South Africa in September this year for a holiday. We had got in touch with Roger Majors of MyTours over the net, to take us around Cape Town during our stay there.
We covered Table Mountain and Cape Peninsula (CP) on the first day. The route thru CP covered all the important picturesque places including Cape Point. The second day we went to see the Big 5, a two hour drive from Cape Town.
Roger personally drove us to these destinations. He was a competent and well informed guide, telling us about the local history and culture of each of the places we visited. He ensured that we spent adequate time at each location so that we could look around at leisure; after all we were vacationing weren’t we ? He drove us through some very scenic spots so that we could do some photography. He being an affable and un-intrusive person ensured that we all had a great time. His prices are quite completive and we felt we got value for money.
Overall it was a delightful and a relaxed stay at Cape Town.

I contacted Roger a couple of days before I got to Cape Town and he gave me loads of great advice, whether it was relevant to his tours or not. This really helped as I was only in town for a couple of days at short notice and would not have had been able to see Robben Island without his advice to buy the ticket online in advance.
My tour guide for the day was actually a local guy called Brian. I overslept on the day of my tour, but this was not a problem. Brian even had a coffee with me at the hotel so I didn't miss breakfast! The tour itself was brilliant! Brian is very knowledgeable and has more than a few interesting anecdotes about his own history, let alone Cape Town! If you go to Cape Town, book a tour with these guys - you won't be disappointed

I found Roger's safari offering on his Mytours web site. The 90-minute drive to the Fairy Glen game farm was very scenic, with Roger providing historical comments along the way. I and the other guests enjoyed a splendid buffet lunch and a pleasant game drive with a very knowledgeable guide. We had great "close up" views of four of South Africa's "Big Five", plus many other animals, in natural surroundings. Overall, an authentic safari experience, close to Cape Town.

Top quality tours - superb service and value for money 10/10

Oct 6, 2010
We visited Cape Town for 5 days in June and went on a mytours day to the winelands. The knowledge was first rate and the vineyards visited top quality. The day was highly enjoyable as well as learning a decent amount about wine, which was a big bonus.
I left some money in the minibus as well as another personal item which i didnt realise until Roger called me. Unfortunately we could not meet up with Roger before we went back to Jo'berg however, Roger posted the money and item to me back in England which i have received. This says alot for his excellent service and honesty.
Roger also went out of his to delay taking us back to where we were staying so we could see eat at the waterfront in the evening.
The range of tours is large and when we visit Cape Town again in 2012 we will be using Roger and mytours as much as possible.
I would highly recommend using mytours if you are in Cape Town, you will not be disappointed.

We found mytours on Google. Roger organized everything for us in Cape town. He collected us from the Airport. Arranged self catering accommodation for us at a very good rate, cheaper than we could find.

We booked 2 tours with Mytours. The Cape Peninsula and the table mt, Robben Island tour, which we did privately with him. We had a fabulous day on both tours, he has amazing knowledge of the history of Cape Town and enthusiasm to share with us. Roger really went out of his way for us. Recommending restaurants to us and where to go. He knows the best places for dining out.

At the end of our stay, Roger took us back to the airport. It was like we were leaving a friend behind. We do hope to return to Cape Town again and use Mytours in the future. We will definitely recommend them to our friends who are coming to cape town. We would also ask Roger to arrange the same accommodation too.

Roger’s very knowledgeable, caring and flexible approach to the Cape peninsula tour made for a day that will live long in the memory.

He punctuated the day with an interesting commentary of historical and up-to-date events and even dropped me off at Table Mountain later in the afternoon to make sure I got to see Table Mountain, which I had been unable to do because of earlier poor weather.

I would definitely recommend spending at least a day with Roger, and just wish that I had more time to do other tours with him such as to the wineries and watching whales.

We travelled out to South Africa for the World Cup in June 2010. I located Mytours though an internet search and opted for it due to the attractive itinerary and reasonable price.

Our guide Roger picked us up exactly as arranged and we set off for our day tour of the winelands. We visited 5 estates; Eaglevlei, Glen Carlou, Tokara, Ernie Els and Asara. All the vineyards were in lovely surroundings and each had a great selection of wines.

Roger was very knowledgeable and was a pleasure to spend the day with. We stopped for lunch at a wonderful restaurant in Franschhoek called the Dieu Donne (/www.dieudonnevineyards.com). The restaurant had spectacular views over the surrounding countryside and the food was both superb and well priced. My friend had the Zebra which I can highly recommend.

As well as the vineyards we also got to spend bit of time in the centre of both Franschhoek and Stellenbosch which was an unexpected and pleasant addition to our tour.

After we had completed the day tour Roger dropped us off at the Cape Town waterfront so we could have a few drinks then came back later to transport us back to our accommodation in Hout Bay.

It was a fantastic day out, which I cannot recommend enough.

Many thanks Roger.

We had the most fantastic winelands tour, to Stelenbosch and Franschoek. Visiting 4 wine estates. With lunch at a wine estate with magnificent views in Franschoek where the original French Hugenot settlers introduced winemaking.

We enjoyed wine tastings and a cellar tour at top class wine estates in stunning locations.

All the estates we visited have won gold and double gold medals at London wine and spirits competitions.

I would definately use Roger and Mytours again

We were staying in Cape Town during the World Cup and wanted to plan an afternoon wine tour. Roger was one of only a few to reply to internet enquiries and was certainly the most flexible and was good value for money. This was my 4th or 5th Cape wine tour and probably one of the best. Roger took us to some very interesting estates. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable afternoon with Roger and Rosetta.

We came to South Africa for the World Cup, and Cape Town was our first stop. It was a bit nerve-wrecking when planning our first visit to this continent, and let me say that there were a lot of negative press about the country prior to the World Cup. But Roger's professional approach even before we arrive, assured us that we would be in safe hands.

Roger turned out to be more than a mere guide, but a great friend in Cape Town. He took care of us for 3 full days, and not only took us on the tours (which were very flexible and customizable on the run), but also made sure we had the best experiences outside of his tours. On the Opening Day of the World Cup, while our family was frantically searching for a place to watch the first game, Roger and his wonderful wife Rosetta waltzed into rescue once more, using their connections in Cape Town to land us front-row seatings in a bar, ensuring that we'd watch the games in a safe and comfortable place. Our dinner together afterwards was also extremely charming and memorable.

Thanks Roger and Rosetta for making our visit to Cape Town so unforgettable!

My wife and I visited Cape Town recently for our honeymoon and found Roger & Mytours using Google. Roger took us on an amazing tour of the Darling wine region - per our request. On our drive out to the wineries we stopped at several scenic views of the city and water. After the wine tours we drove back and visited Table Mountain and the touristy market to buy some goodies. Roger was very knowledgeable on all aspects of the trip, friendly and accommodating. He helped us find the perfect Zebra rug to bring back to the US – our favorite souvenir. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone visiting Cape Town, and give him additional business when visit again. Thanks again for everything Roger!

I contacted five Cape Town travel advisors via the internet and email to give me quotes and ideas for our week long visit at the end of the world cup. Mytours was the only company who consistently and promptly followed up my emails, and Roger actually telephoned me a number of times to offer his personal advice - which also including mailing a parcel of brochures and maps! He got our work because he showed the most personal interest in our plans. specialises in Wine Estate tours and will arrange tours to suit individual preferences and
tastes. His research on all his tours is quite remarkable. We were very impressed with
the service, the range of menu`s and food quality at these estates. We visited Cape
Peninsula, Boulders Beach tours. The trip to Roben Island is a must as well as Table
Mountain. The River Cruise is also offered by Roger and is most reccommended.(includes a most delicious buffet lunch). On our next visit we will go on the Alternative Safari (seems excellent value) half the price of the big 5. Look out Cape Town we arrive
